Grade 2 Moose x Amplify

Grow vocabulary and develop persuasive and informational writing skills while introducing students to people, places, and ideas that existed long ago. Introduce historical thinking skills through a variety of social studies topics.

The Amplify Second Grade Knowledge Domains challenge students to think about people, places, and ideas that exist today, as well as those that thrived long ago and far away. Students add to their growing vocabulary and develop their persuasive and informational writing skills as they read and respond to texts and images that cover a range of topics including insects, Westward Expansion, and the U.S. Civil War. Moose x Amplify lessons reinforce and extend the Knowledge Domains’ learning goals with activities that challenge students to apply their developing historical thinking skills to texts, documents, and photographs that explore New Hampshire-specific topics.
