Moose x Amplify

Explore curated and specially designed Moose lessons that align with Amplify Knowledge Domains to extend and reinforce learning objectives and make meaningful connections to New Hampshire history.

Amplify is a national education company that offers programs based on the science of reading. The organization's approach promotes the use of contextual knowledge to help students decipher language and improve reading proficiency. As stated on Amplify's website, "For more than a decade, Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts has transformed classrooms nationwide with its intentional knowledge building and systematic skills instruction. . . . Amplify CKLA follows the Core Knowledge Sequence, a content-specific, cumulative, and coherent approach to knowledge building. This approach improves reading scores and closes achievement gaps by establishing a robust knowledge base that strengthens comprehension." For more information about the Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts program, visit the organization's website.

The "Moose on the Loose" offers units, lesson plans, virtual field trips, videos, and activities that supplement Amplify's programs. These resources are meant to complement Amplify's materials, not replace them, but we think children learn best when they can make connections directly to the things they see in the world around them—and specifically in the state we all love. Districts that use Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts to develop ELA skills will find that Moose x Amplify makes it easy to integrate New Hampshire-focused social studies topics into student learning experiences in grades K-4.
